A slow day at work means random news items for you! Don’t you feel special?
- The pets.com sock puppet has landed a new gig, according to CNN. I wonder if this will prevent him from opening for Slayer. One of my coworkers has a replica puppet, maybe now I can get one too! (yea, I’m lame… ^_^;)
- The Seattle Times passes along AT&T Wireless’s announcement of a service that will allow people on your buddy list find out where you are by tracking your cell phone’s location. I know that they’ve got some kind of permissions-based privacy policy worked out, but I still get kind of squicked out thinking about it. Do you think this is a good idea? Convince me?
- And finally, from the wacky land of China, a team of research scientists is going off to explore suspected alien ruins in the countryside. From the descriptions, they’ve at least got something unusual on their hands. Should be interesting! (Thanks Sus)
Tomorrow, Jet arrives from Shanghai. Saturday, a wedding (not mine!). Should mean more interesting adventures to relate.
